Crispy Haloumi Bites with Triple Dipping Sauce

Ingredients

·       400-500g of Haloumi (serves 2-3 people comfortably)

·       All-purpose flour for crumbing

·       1-2 eggs, beaten

·       Panko breadcrumbs

·       Cooking oil for shallow frying

·       Fresh salad greens to serve

·       Black Garlic Aioli

·       Noosashire Black Garlic Sauce

·       Ka-Pao Korean Sauce

 

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Haloumi

Begin by cutting the Haloumi into large bite-size pieces. Haloumi’s firm texture makes it perfect for frying, and cutting it into chunks ensures each piece is packed with flavour.

 

Step 2: Crumb the Haloumi

Set up a crumbing station with three bowls: one with all-purpose flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with panko bread crumbs. Dip each piece of Haloumi first in the flour, ensuring it’s lightly coated. Next, dip it in the egg, allowing any excess to drip off before coating it thoroughly with panko breadcrumbs. The panko will give the Haloumi a delightful crunch and golden colour when fried.

 

Step 3: Fry the Haloumi Bites

Heat a generous amount of cooking oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Once the oil is hot, add the Haloumi pieces in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan.
